"JJFS Juniors" 15k charity event for Street Child United
As a firm which prides itself in having a strong family ethos, we felt it fitting to involve our children in our latest charity initiative. On Saturday 26th September our wonderful crew of “JJFS Juniors” - our team’s children, embarked on a combined 15km run/cycle and walk to raise money for our partner charity Street Child United.
Between them, Joe, Cristian, Freya and Nathan had spent the previous couple of months training hard, which all paid off as they in fact exceeded their 15km and managed to run/cycle and walk almost 25km!
Due to the recent Covid-19 guidelines of gatherings of no more than 6 people allowed, we carried out the event in separate groups. Joe (13) ran 6k in his home up North, Cristian (5) managed to cycle almost 15k (!) and Nathan (2) and Freya (3) walked just over 2k together, with the help of a little scavenger hunt to keep them going.
We are all so proud of our children for not only being such good sports and running/cycling & walking further than they have ever done so before, but also for helping to raise over £2,400 for such a brilliant charity.
We are also extremely grateful to everyone who sponsored the four of them, and feel very fortunate to have such supportive family, friends and clients.
Street Child United
Street Child United put on international sporting events where street children from around the world take part. This helps change people’s negative perceptions of street children. Their goal is to inspire a brighter, safer future for street-connected children everywhere. More details about what they do and their events can be found here.
We have had the pleasure of getting to know the team at Street Child United over the past few months, and are in awe of the excellent work they carry out, and we are pleased that we can help support them.
