Meet Bianca from Sebby's Corner
When John founded JJFS over 35 years ago he believed that independent companies, businesses and charities should come together to support each other.
This ethos still stands, and we would love to share the amazing work that the charity Sebby’s Corner has done and continues to do since it was founded by Bianca Sakol at the start of this year:
I started Sebby's Corner in January 2021 when I struggled to find somewhere to donate the clothes my children had outgrown. I took a corner in a local food bank and supplied the clothes I had collected to their families once a week. Since then, we have continued to grow and now have our own hub and supply clothes, nappies, baby formula, toiletries and many other essential items to families across London and Hertfordshire.
We believe that no child should go without basic essentials and work with organisations and professions such as councils, social workers and midwives who refer families to us. We help a wide range of families including those living in poverty, women and their children who have left domestic abuse and refugees who have arrived in the country with nothing.
In an average month we distribute over 5,000 nappies, 1,200 items of clothing, 30 buggies and over 100 boxes of formula. We help around 50-60 individual families per month and supply 15 different food banks, baby banks and refuges with toiletries and other essential items.
We have an incredible team of dedicated volunteers who help pack referrals and handle our social media etc. and a committed team of trustees of which Jimmie is now treasurer. We have regular fundraising drives (mainly via our Instagram page @sebbyscorneruk) and have to date raised over £80,000. We are always on the lookout for further fundraising opportunities and donations and have many different everyday items that are available to purchase through our amazon wish list. Please visit www.sebbyscorner.co.uk for more information. We thank you and JJFS for their support and wish you all a happy and healthy New Year.
